Looking Ahead: Top Baseball Showcases, Jan 12-13, 2019

The New Year is here and there are plenty of options for players looking to showcase their skills and get a head start on the competition in their pre-season preparations. Many of the events that we are seeing on our calendar at this time of year are organized by scouting services with a national reach. This week is no exception, as our list is made up entirely of events from Prep Baseball Report and Perfect Game.

Perfect Game National Underclass West Showcase | Peoria, AZ | Jan 12-13

One of the top baseball showcases in the Southwest region this week comes from Perfect Game.

This event will be held at the Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, AZ, spring training home of the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres.

From the PG event website: Perfect Game set a new record for the tenth consecutive year following the 2011 MLB draft. Of the 1,530 players selected, 1,323 had attended a Perfect Game event, and 294 of the first 331 picks were Perfect Game alumni. Many of these alumni had participated in multiple Perfect Game tournaments, showcases and/or leagues. Click here for the event website.


PBR 2019 South Florida Trials | Miami, FL | Jan 12

The PBR South Florida Trials will be held January 12, 2019 at Florida International University in Miami, FL.

This showcase promises to have some of the top unsigned talent in the Southeast region.

From the PBR website: The 2019 South Florida Trials is an open event to all high school graduates with the goal of identifying top prospects to invite to upcoming 2019 Florida Preseason All-State as well as follow throughout the upcoming 2019 high school season. The top prospects at the Trials event who receive invitations to Preseason All-State will also get to use their Trials registration as credit towards the Preseason All-State registration. This will also be used as identifiers for the 2019 PBR Future Games and other premier invite-only events like the 2019 All-State Games and 2019 Top Prospect Games.


PBR Central Valley Preseason I.D. | Fresno, CA | Jan 13

The Prep Baseball Report Central Valley Preseason ID will be held January 13, 2019 at Fresno City College.

As of this writing, the PBR Central Valley Preseason I.D. is the only showcase in the West region on our calendar for the weekend of January 12-13, 2019. (Note to showcase organizers, please click here to post your showcases).

From the PBR website: The showcase will be featured on the Prep Baseball Report website, which is subscribed to by more than 850 colleges. Event information including statistics, scouting reports be hosted on the Prep Baseball Report’s website, at PrepBaseballReport.com/california. Top players will be identified for Top Prospects recognition and be ranked in their classes. Players’ edited videos will also be hosted in the players’ profile along with scouting reports and statistics for easy accessibility to college and pro scouts.


PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase | McCook, IL | Jan 13

Prep Baseball Report is an independent amateur scouting company with operations in over 40 states.

 

This is another outstanding option for prospective college players, courtesy of Prep Baseball Report. This particular showcase is known to sell out each year. As such, walk up registrations will not be accepted.

Players will receive a profile on the PBR website, which will include scouting reports, statistics, and videos. The PBR website boasts over 800 subscriptions from college coaches, so players should expect to receive exposure from this event.

PBR Louisiana Winter Prospect Showcase | Westwego, LA | Jan 13

The Prep Baseball Report Winter Prospect Showcase will be held at Segnette Field in Westwego, LA, home of the Loyola University – New Orleans Wolf Pack.

From the PBR website: Event information will also be posted on the Prep Baseball Report’s website, at PrepBaseballReport.com. Players’ edited videos will also be hosted in the players’ profile.
