Baseball season is right around the corner! And that means camps, showcases, and tournaments are ramping up to help players improve and maximize their exposure.

Here are five events taking place throughout the US in January 2019 that serious baseball players should consider:

1.) PBR Pitcher Showcase and Analysis | Mandeville, LA (Jan 5, 2019)

Pitchers at the PBR Pitcher Showcase will receive a scouting video, instructional lectures, and a detailed analysis of their mechanics.

This showcase is a hybrid scouting and instructional event, organized by Prep Baseball Report. Pitchers will receive instructional lectures covering topics like recruiting, strength and conditioning, and velocity development.

On the scouting side of things, pitchers can expect a written evaluation of their mechanics and a skills video, as well suggestions on how to improve upon weaknesses.

Fast Facts: This event costs $190. In 2017, the PBR Louisiana Showcase and Analysis included seven pitchers who committed to pitch at the college level, including LSU.

 

2.) Radford University Pre-Season Pitcher Development Camp | Radford , VA (Jan 15 – Feb 12, 2019)

The Radford University Pre-Season Pitcher Development Camp is a five-week intensive program to get high school pitchers ready for the upcoming season. The curriculum includes Rapsodo training, as well as the use of specialized equipment that is used by the Radford pitching staff. Pitchers will also receive a year-round throwing program.

3.) Martin Luther King Jr Day National Invitational Tournament | Cocoa, FL (Jan 19 – 21, 2019)

This four day tournament for ages 9u-18u will be held at Coastal Florida Sports Park in sunny Cocoa, FL. There is a four-game guarantee and players can sign up as individual “free agents” or as part of their team.

4.) University of New Mexico Team Camp | Albuquerque, NM (Jan 19 – 21, 2019)

An excellent pre-season option for teams and players in the Southwest region is the University of New Mexico’s Team Camp. This camp includes a four game guarantee with UNM players providing umpiring and coaching. Games will feature “showcase format” – 3 players or 5 hitters per inning, to keep things moving. Games will be played at Santa Ana field on the UNM campus in Albuquerque.

5.) PBR CONNECTICUT WINTER COLLEGE SHOWCASE | North Branford, CT (January 20, 2019)

High School players in the Northeast region who are looking to get a head start on the competition should look into the Connecticut Winter College Showcase at the Connecticut Sportsplex. The event is organized by Prep Baseball Report. Players will receive a PBR profile.
