Swarthmore’s Midkiff Wins 200th game

Swarthmore College Head Baseball Coach Matt MidkiffSwarthmore College head coach Matt Midkiff won the 200th game of his career on Tuesday, as the Garnet defeated DeSales by a score of 13-5. The win improves Swarthmore to 12-3 on the season.

Prior to taking over at Swarthmore, Midkiff coached the Eastern University Eagles for four seasons. During his time at Eastern, the program won 20-games in consecutive seasons, including a school record 21 games in 2010. That year, Midkiff won the MAC-Freedom Conference Coach of the Year honors.

Under Midkiff’s leadership, Swarthmore has finished above .500 in five of the past six seasons. Last year, the program won a school record 38 games, which earned Midkiff Coach of the Year honors from the Centennial Conference.
