Swarthmore College head coach Matt Midkiff won the 200th game of his career on Tuesday, as the Garnet defeated DeSales by a score of 13-5. The win improves Swarthmore to 12-3 on the season.
Prior to taking over at Swarthmore, Midkiff coached the Eastern University Eagles for four seasons. During his time at Eastern, the program won 20-games in consecutive seasons, including a school record 21 games in 2010. That year, Midkiff won the MAC-Freedom Conference Coach of the Year honors.
Under Midkiff’s leadership, Swarthmore has finished above .500 in five of the past six seasons. Last year, the program won a school record 38 games, which earned Midkiff Coach of the Year honors from the Centennial Conference.
