Event Will Provide Affordable Recruiting Video for High School Baseball Players

CHICAGO (May 14, 2019) – The Baseball United Foundation will hold a skills video showcase for high school baseball players in the Chicagoland area on June 1, 2019. The event will take place at The Holmgren Athletic Complex on the campus of North Park University in Chicago.

Participating players will be videotaped during hitting, pitching, and fielding workouts at the event. Following the event, each player will receive a link to their own personal skills video, which can they can use to help them during the college recruiting process.

“Recruiting videos are an important part of the college recruiting process,” explains showcase director Tug Gillingham. “We are going to help as many local players as we can by providing a professionally produced recruiting video that will hopefully lead to future conversations with college coaches.”

Each position player will be videotaped hitting and fielding in a showcase-style workout. Pitchers will be filmed from multiple angles with radar to gauge velocity and movement. Catchers will be videotaped receiving, blocking, fielding bunts, and throwing to second base.

The Baseball United Foundation has taken the lead in providing affordable recruiting videos for baseball players, by using a format that is simple and clean, without music or special effects.

“We’re helping players and their families by offering a video service that gives an accurate picture of each player’s skill level at an affordable price point,” explains Baseball United Foundation Director John Fitzgerald. “Our videos give college coaches what they need to evaluate a player and they are easy to share with those coaches.”
