Interview Transcript

Our camp is November 16th and 17th. It is located at King field on Wofford College’s campus, which is located in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The camp is open to anybody in high school or any current junior college players. The cost for camp for both days is $245.

Camp Schedule

Saturday, November 16

It’s a two-day event. On November 16th, which is a Saturday, we’ll start with a full pro style workout. Players will showcase at their primary position. That includes defensive showcase, offensive showcase, and a 60 yard dash.

The second half of Saturday is a simulated Wofford College practice, so we break up into positions, our five coaches are there, everybody takes their position that they work with on the field. They go through about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes of defensive instruction and then we go to offensive instruction. The campers learn basically what we do — basically, our daily hitting progression.

And then once that wraps up we go into an hour to an hour and a half of a coach pitch game. So we break the camp up into two teams and we have a an hour and an hour and a half of coach pitch game, just to give players more reps.

While that’s going on, our coaching staff is walking around on the field providing instruction, as plays happen.

Sunday, November 17

On Sunday, everybody is assigned to one game. It’ll be a nine to ten nine or ten inning game. Primary pitchers will throw two innings and secondary pitchers will throw one inning. And as soon as your game is over, you are free to go.

Coaching Staff

The coaching staff will be our five Wofford coaches and we will bring bringing in a coaching member from from every level of NCAA baseball, as well as a junior college school. So as of right now, Division III Oglethorpe is coming, which is in Atlanta, and then we will also be bringing in a Division II school and then also one or two more Division II schools and then also a Junior College school, as well.

We have a stadium that seats about a thousand chair backs, a press box, we just got a brand new camera system that we are able to use. Cages were redone about two years ago, they are right behind the right field fence. There’s two extra wide cages and then two small cages for front toss and tee work, and then another separate tee station as well.

Written Evaluation

Our campers will receive their exit velo, as well. About a week after camp ends, we compile all those numbers, as well as a written evaluation from one of the members of our Wofford coaching staff. And then we email out every camper their own individual player evaluation. If they have any questions they can obviously ask us as as they see fit.
